About

Look out for the OVC

It’s 1982 and Buffalo Gals by Malcolm Mclaren hits radio 1 and I’m hooked.

Soon after, a pair of Sony Walkman headphones are thrust towards me in the school yard - I see the spools are turning on a freshly recorded BASF cassette… “Have a listen to this!” It’s Packman by the Packman, the first track of the Streetsounds Electro 1 compilation, orchestrated by Morgan Khan.

I’ve landed - I’ve found it - I belong.
Not only was the electronic sound an instant buzz - but the sleeve graphics by John Carver also completed the package. I can define the Electro 1 sleeve as THE piece of graphic design that inspired me to become a graphic designer.

Twenty five years later and I’m an art director/owner at Plus Two Studio in the West Midlands. We have worked for Virgin Records, Warner Music & Rawkus Records to name but few.

I have also had the fortune of working with Morgan Khan on the Street Sounds Nu Electro series, designing and art directing the packaging.

This site is a scrapbook of my findings, thoughts, audio and images.
